Inhibitory Potentialities of Bio-control Agents on Cochliobolus heterostrophus Inciting Maydis Leaf Blight of Maize in Manipur

The antagonistic potentialities of seven species native Trichoderma viz., T. atroviride, koningiopsis, ovalisporum, Hypocrea lixii, harzianum, asperellum and harzianum were evaluated in vitro against Cochliobolus heterostrophus causing maydis leaf blight maize. current study dual culture assay, revealed the percentages mycelial growth inhibition C. by atroviridae, asperellu 80.4%, 83.80%, 82.85%, 85.23%, 83.33% 82.38% respectively. Each significantly slowed pathogen's expansion. findings indicate that heterostrophus, a common pathogen associated with maize blight, is capable being inhibited to significant degree all Trichoderma, using them as effective potential antagonists.
